HOORAY, we finally got our third F3f event in today. The weather forecast was correct,
S/E going to E by lunchtime, raining by 4.
Lower entry than expected but the weather and work has to be held responsible for most of the absentees.
The wind speed (20mph on the edge) always seem more on this hill than the times show, it flew more like 10 mph on a reasonably good slope.
Conditions were warm to start but as the front approached the temperature dropped, the air became damp and it was not a day to expect fast times.
8 rounds were flown, packing up just as the first drizzle appeared.
Congrats to Martin Gibbs who came from nowhere and took the FTD in round 6 with 49.86 secs.
Both Dave and Ron would have surpassed this time if we had not suffered from the dreaded stall/ flick thumb.
Again well done Martin, now string some good times together.
Scores as follows
1st Ron Russell Viking 6848
2nd Ron Russell Furio 6535.64
3rd Dave Watson Sting 6526.89
4th Ian Stewart Elita 6514.24
5th Ian Simpson Elipse 1T 6444.12
6th Martin Gibbs Tragi 6397.36
7th Alistair S Race M 1 5881.19
8th Alistair S Race M 2 5830.15
Foamies were not raced, with only 4 models turning up and the early wind direction giving us a 50 metre long slope we decided against it.
Next time though.
