Hi all, well we got another competition in on Kilspindie. This time the conditions were light (again) South /Easterly, hazy conditions helped ensure there were not going to be any sparkling times put up.
The wind meter reading of 20 mph in the compression at the edge of the slope was
misleading and there was some ballasting, unballasting, ballasting, unballasting going on.
Me, I left mine the same as at the VR and hoped.
10 entries were received and the comp began.
We ran 8 rounds and during the latter stages the wind was dropping off and light drizzle was just starting to fall as we completed the 8th so discretion dictated that we halt the comp.
Results;
1st Ron Russell Viking 6973.09
2nd Peter Gunning Skorpion 6565.53
3rd Ron Russell Furio 6535.24
4th Peter Gunning Race M 6354.13
5th Dave Watson Race M 6235.17
6th Ian Simpson Elipse 1 T 6177.23
7th Ian Stewart Tragi 6138.93
8th Robert Carson Cobra 5984
9th Ali Sutherland M 5769.46
10th Dave Watson Sting 1845.28
Dave W was unfortunate enough to stall his Sting in the climb out during a particularly sinky moment off the course with insufficient height to recover, however it will fly again!
The wing was remarkably unmarked but the fuselage did have a dog leg in it.
I spoiled what would have been a perfect score (including one discard) with the Viking
by going and winning round 8 with the Furio.
There were no sparkling times, but the fastest are listed below.
Ron Russell 52.15 Viking
Peter Gunning 52.39 Race M
Ron Russell 52.71 Viking
Slowest time was 73.67
Wonder when we are going to get the right wind for Bishop Hill?
Dave Watson has to be thanked for the following link to photos taken during the comp.
