Event 3, East Lomond, Wind strong, West 25 -35 mph
At last we had some bright conditions to fly, the sun was higher in the sky and did not cause the same problems as in the previous W.L. comps. The brisk wind gave us hope that a good comp would ensue. It was a pity that flying on Bishop Hill had to be postponed due to a cross country foot race taking place and the access road being blocked till after midday. So it was the trudge up East Lomond for the 3rd time this winter. The wind was not kind to us, the Westerly airflow meant that a fast and slow leg were always going to affect down the models, however one or two respectable times were flown during the event. Peter suffered at the effect of a stronger blow that would not let his model penetrate back to the landing zone and crumped his Race M. Others were more fortunate as the conditions did vary as much for landing as they did for the flying. It is in the process of being resurected again, wonder what this colour scheme will be?
