We finally got to have a social event this year, where the wives were invited and did not want to be left at home, well most of them anyway.
I think it is fair to say that those people who could not attend missed a good friendly evening with plenty of banter and fun. As usual at Pettycur Bay, the meal was first class, not too expensive and the surroundings were excellent. The staff there always make the evening pleasant, being just in the background but always ready to keep your evening flowing. I always feel that a meal should not have delays between courses or long periods waiting on the table being cleared. Pettycur Bay always seem to come up trumps with me there.
Once the meal was finished, we retired to the less formal area and the toy, sorry model helicopters and 'planes came out to play for the members who were able to move. I wish I had brought 20 of these wee helicopters to sell to the locals, they seemed mighty impressed by them. I wonder if any of them actually went out and bought some the following day?
Pity I do not have any pictures of them flying, too busy playing I suppose. However here are a few reminders of the evening, for those who do not appear I apologise, even with my new toy a couple of the shots came out too blurry to be worth including and for those who do but didn't want to I also apologise, but you all seemed happy enough in print.
Next time let's make sure all the wives come along and meet up with the overgrown children that their husbands go out to play with. |
